ITANAGAR, Mar 7: The swearing-
Addressing the function, Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President cum Chief Minister Nabam Tuki, while expressing concern at delay and dissatisfaction at the implementation of some rural schemes, said that his government is putting efforts to plug the loopholes.
He said that though the rural people of the state are deprived of the developmental activities, they have always been extending their help and cooperation to Indian National Congress in time of need.
While advising the young elected leaders to extend their cooperation for development of basic amenities in rural areas besides moulding the future of the youth in the state, Tuki also advised the youth leaders to properly monitor the centrally sponsored schemes to ensure that the schemes reach the targeted people of the rural areas.
He further advised the youth leaders to strengthen and maintain the faith of the rural people by shouldering the responsibility and maintaining a cordial relation with the grassroots level people, particularly in rural areas of the state.
The Chief Minister exhorted the youths to maintain team spirit for the success of any programme and policies.
While recalling his early days with Youth wing of the Congress, the Chief Minister said that it was important for the youth leaders to work with proper coordination.
He further advised the newly elected youth leaders to follow the ideology of the Congress party and serve the party with full dedication.
APYC President Tadar Niglar highlighted the policies and programmes of the Youth wing and assured to work for the overall progress of the party.
He further said, besides party activities, the youth Congress would take up various
social activities in the state. He cautioned that strict action will be taken against

NEEPCO urged to fulfill demands within 15 days
ITANAGAR, Mar 7: Pare Project Land Affected Welfare Committee (PPLAWC) has called on the NEEPCO director (personnel) of Pare Hydro Electric Project (PHEP) I P Boruah on March 5 and submitted a memorandum demanding 100 per cent reservation in C and D category jobs for local project affected people. The Committee said if the NEEPCO authority fails to fulfill its demand within 15 days time, it will compel to launch democratic movement against NEEPCO at PHEP site. The project affected people are not satisfied with only verbal assurance given by NEEPCO authority many a times earlier, the Committee added.
The Committee, however, said that Boruah assured to take up the demands with NEEPCO CMD.
Meanwhile, the PPLAWC lauded the All Nyishi Students’ Union for taking up the grievances of local project affected people with NEEPCO authority.

Sonam seeks Karnataka INTUC help for safety of Arunachalee students
ITANAGAR, Mar 7: Expressing deep concern after 50 Arunachalee students at Bhuvan Polytechnic Yelahanka in Bangalore were allegedly beaten up by a local mob at on March 1 last, Arunachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (APBOCWWB) Chairman Jalley Sonam, who is also working president of Pradesh Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) today sought the help of its Karnataka counterpart for the safety and security of Arunachal students studying across Karnataka.

RUKSIN, Mar 7: With a view to strengthen the Panchayati Raj machinery in the state, the government sanctioned fund for development of Gram Panchayat offices in each Gram Panchayat within a period of five years. The first phase of construction work is reportedly under progress and sanction for next phase would be released soon.
The government, under the head of Panchayat department, during the August last year sanctioned Rs. 82.68 lakh for development of Cultural Activity Ground and another amount of Rs.1.24 crore for construction of Gram Panchayat Ghor (office building) in East Siang district.
Official sources informed that there are 156 GP headquarters in the district in total and Rs. 53,000 each has been sanctioned for development of cultural activity ground. The amount has been reportedly transferred to the joint accounts of Gram Chairperson and Member secretary of the GPs concerned.
Sources said that 31 out of the 578 GPs are granted sanction for Gram Panchayat Office
construction in the first phase and sanction for the rest GPs would be granted within
the next four years in phase-

There are a total 578 Gram Panchayat segments in the district, which are represented by as many as 156 Gram Panchayat Chairpersons, besides 13 Anchal Chairpersons and 13 Zilla Parishad Members. Out of the 578 segments, election was conducted for only 569 seats and no Gram Panchayat Member was elected from the rest 9 seats, during the last panchayat poll.
Women; Thy name is Tolerance and Sacrifice

In many places of the world mostly in urban areas and metropolis world’s many women organizations might be wishing, cheering and hugging each other while celebrating International Women’s Day. Many women organizations might be organizing seminar, workshop, photo exhibition, photography competition, essay competition, dinner party and somewhere some organizations might be passing legislation for women’s cause and some might be drafting laws for women’s welfare.
In rural areas of Arunachal Pradesh women’s picture is gloomy. Their life boat is not sailing well. Poverty and ignorance are sinking them. Women are ignorant and so unaware of International Women’s Day. Their lives are different from their counterparts in urban areas. Their lives are extremely tough and miserable. They think their village is their whole world and their life is confined to it. They have no time to poke out what’s going on outside their world. Because they think they are born to work before sunrise to near midnight – all for their family’s survival. In rural area women are extremely poor. There is no scope of earning a penny. Poverty and overwork make them pathetic. They cannot afford to buy clothes for themselves and for the kids nor they are capable of sending their kids to school and buy pen and pencils for them. The umbrella of the Inter National Women Organization need to be wide enough to cover these poor rural women from the rain of abject poverty and misery.
For them every day is an ordeal. The day starts with carrying water in three or four
numbers of four to five feet long and six inches diameter bamboo water container
from the community water out let fumbling and stumbling in poor visibility, then
cooking for whole family, feeding domestic fouls, pigs, feeding the family members,
packing lunch in ‘kohu patta’ (ekkam) for young and adult for the day. With baby
on her back and conical cane basket on her shoulder laden with lunch, some clothes,
some agriculture tools, they set out for the field (jhum kheti) up and down the zig
zag, narrow and slippery hill road which is many kilometers away from the village.
Away from home in the field, under scorch heat or chilling cold she puts in her whole
energy, torture her own body not to let every minutes and every second go waste.
As the day recedes she packs up about forty kilos of firewood in conical cane basket
and carries on head and baby in baggy hanging in front, she starts the back journey
dragging her feet in tiresome. Back at home awaits mountain of endless domestic
house hold chores, that same routine work like feeding the domestic fowls, feeding
the pigs, carrying water, cooking for family, drying paddy above the fire place,

For two meals a day they have to toil more than twenty hours every day. Neither they have time to raise their head up nor has a moment to rest their tired and over burdened arms and legs. By the time all household chores are completed it becomes midnight. Only two or three hours left to sleep. That remaining two or three hours too at the disposal of husband. Too tired she gets up next morning. Days, months and years pass like this. Because she is destined for that. When tiresome is beyond tolerance they weep silently sitting in a corner. Other than murmuring and cursing herself she cannot do anything. She consoles herself saying ‘Why I was not born as a son ? ‘No, I should not have been born at all.’ Despite all that she is blamed if meal is late, she is blamed if food is not tasty, if baby cries she is rebuked. She has endless list of responsibilities yet they are never ranked at par with men. If husband, unfortunately, ceases to exist, she, somehow, manage to bring up the children. But, if wife ceases to exist men need an another woman to bring up the children. She may go hungry but she will not let her husband, children go hungry. She would say “I am not hungry’ or “ I will eat later on’.
They have learned to live in a world of hopelessness. They think they are destined to live to like that. So, they have accepted the destiny written for them. They think it’s a legacy of the tradition. Women are extremely tolerant and sacrificial. They demand nothing in return.
Women, thou areth so kind, so tolerant and sacrificial.

I would like to draw the kind attention of authority concern that the Arunachal Law College has been charging exorbitant fee of Rs 5000 per annum from each student in the pretext of providing digital library but shockingly and surprisingly such facility is yet to be provided by the law college authority.
It is also to inform the concern authority that no profile of the law colleges, which is a mandatory as per UGC guidelines, has been submitted to the Rajiv Gandhi University till date.

It has been established from the above fact that the authority of the law colleges is running the college only for monetary gain thereby playing with the career of law students who are supposed to be the torch bearers of the society.

Dear Editor,
Apropos the news item under heading “Fresh allegation of ......” published in your daily on March 3 edition, I on behalf of Kipa Welfare Society (KWS), strongly condemn the cowardly act of leveling baseless allegation against Dr. Nabam Jadav by the so called Integrated Youths Guild to Save Arunachal Capital (IYGSAC) by forging signature of innocent persons, who do not even know the very existence of the organization.
We are shocked to learn that the name of Kipa Kale has been unnecessarily dragged into controversy by the so called IYGSAC by using his name as secretary in the press release leveling various allegations against Dr. Nabam. The fact is, there are two Kipa Kale in our Kipa clan, but none of them is associated with the so called IYGSAC.
We are not concerned with the truth of the allegations. But we are concerned at the ill intension of some people to tarnish the image of Kipa clan and to create misunderstanding between Kipa and Nabam clans by unnecessarily dragging the name of Kipa Kale into the issue.
We also object to the publication of the news item by your daily without knowing the proper address and contact numbers of the complainants.

Dear Editor,
We are astonished to know that since the last one week, the Night services bus passengers travelling from Itanagar to Guwahati are facing a great problem. Even though passenger check in whole luggage perfectly but they when reach their destination they find their luggage missing. Who do we blame for this?
In my opinion the night bus services management are responsible for this as well as conductor and handyman. The main targets of the heroic thieves are mostly electronic gadgets like mobile phones and laptops.
The bus conductors pick up passenger at the middle of route to make money unmindful of the discomfort of the passengers. Another serious grievance of the passengers is the food that one has to buy while on way from line hotels. The food is not only bad but dirty too and when we lodge complaint regarding this, they treat us as if they buy food for us. On behalf of Guwahati Arunachal Student's Association(GASA), I strongly appeal to all the night bus services authority to look into the matter strictly.
